The bugs published on this page are mainly computational bugs that affect the calculation results. There should be a bug fix patch for each bug, or at least a plan for when the bug will be fixed.

As a service to our customers we also make patches for other bugs reported to us. We do not publish these patches on this page but send them directly to customers reporting the problem.

Lokalisierung Schweiz: Wenn im Modell eine wassergeführte Kühlung definiert ist, wird diese für das automatisch erstellte Modell für den Nachweis SIA 180 C.1 „sommerlicher Wärmeschutz“ nicht entfernt. Das Nachweismodell weist somit weiterhin eine Kühlung aus, welche manuell zu entfernen ist.

Window shading on sloped roof windows from imported shading objects is incorrectly calculated. This can potentially lead to errors in the zone heat balance.

Time-split parallelization: When using time-split parallelization and the simulation period overlaps more than one calendar year, a time-split period may become incorrect if it is wholly within the second year.

Exhaust air heat recovery (new AHU and corresponding ESBO plant component in 4.7.1):

  • The mass flow in the liquid circuit may become wrong.

  • The design temperature difference parameter in the ESBO plant is not available at the standard level.

  • Design conditions that do not lead to condensation are rejected.

The model still delivers physically correct results, but the design operating point becomes different from that intended.

Integrated shadings in the outer window of a double façade:

  • For a venetian blind, the slat angle is always 45°, regardless of set angle.

  • If the control “Sun” is chosen, the shading is always drawn.

  • If the control “Sun AND Schedule” is set, the shading is controlled by the irradiation level on the inside of the window, regardless of what is chosen.

  • If “New custom control” (ShadeCtrlMacro) is chosen and “Combined with built-in light control” is marked, the light control is ignored.

Deutsche Lokalisation, DIN 4108-2 Add-In: Wenn für eine Zone des Ausgangsmodells unter "In Betrieb" die Voreinstellung "Wenn belegt" durch einen Zeitplan ersetzt wird so wird diese Einstellung im DIN 4108-2 Nachweismodel beibehalten. Korrekte Übertemperaturgradstunden erhält man nur wenn im Nachweismodell der Wert wieder auf "wenn belegt" eingestellt wird.

Simulation time: When setting the simulation time, the date is switched incorrectly if the starting time is late in the day or the ending time is early in the day.

Daylighting: When selecting “Daylighting” in the “Requested output” under the “Simulation” tab, a simplified calculation of the illuminance in zones with an occupant present is performed. When using the detailed window model with an integrated shading that diffuses the light, the solar (total shortwave) properties are used instead of the visual properties for the diffused light. Note that this bug does not affect the daylight calculation performed under the “Daylight” tab.

External shading: When setting the control of an external solar shading to a value in between 1 and 0 (which are the values normally used for on/off), the result deviate from the expected weighted average of the results for 1 and 0.

Miljöbyggnad: The value of “g-syst”, given in “Miljöbyggnad”, includes, when using the standard window, solar heat transferred though the frame, which is not according to the rules of “Miljöbyggnad”.

Deutsche Lokalisation, DIN 4108-2 Add-In: Bei Nichtwohngebäuden wird der Zeitplan "din41082-7-18 weekdays" konstant als "0" angesetzt, auch wenn wochentags zwischen 07:00 Uhr und 18:00 Uhr der Wert "1" angezeigt wird. Dies hat fundamentale Auswirkungen auf die Berechnung.

Markisolette: When using the external shading of the type “Markisolette”, the upper part of the shading will be in line with the outer glazing and therefore ignored unless a recess depth is set for the window. This can be avoided by setting a small recess depth (1 mm or more).

Daylight: When using external shadings, e.g. “Markisolette” or “Drop arm awning”, the daylight calculation will always be made with the shadings drawn, even when “Controllable shading” is set otherwise. This can be avoided by removing the external shadings before the daylight calculation.

Daylight:

  • Imported images are included in the Radiance daylight calculation as shading surfaces with total reflection. This can potentially lead to very incorrect daylight levels.

  • The size of the Radiance scene is incorrect if non-shading objects are placed far away from the measuring plane or if a section of the 3d view has been created with the x+, x-, y+, y-, z+, z- buttons prior to the daylight calculation. This can potentially lead to incorrect daylight levels.

  • Parallel Radiance daylight calculation processes are not aborted when the daylight calculation is aborted.

Thermal bridges: Angles different from 90° in corners are compensated the wrong way by making the length of the thermal bridge longer instead of shorter for larger angles. This means for example that a round building, with a lot of obtuse angles, will have disproportionately long thermal bridges. The important special case of an 180 degree angle (an accidental break point) is treated correctly (no thermal bridge). Note that the combined length of thermal bridges is presented in the zone form under Loss factor for thermal bridges and can be edited there.

Infiltration: A bug in the conversion of units defined per "Air-wetted external surface area" to other units has the following consequences: If "Distribute proportional to" is set to "Air-wetted external surface area", the distribution will instead be (close to) proportional to the total external surface area, and if the set infiltration rate is given per air-wetted external surface, this is instead treated as given per total external surface area (or close to this).

Both window models: The heat resistance of the window frame material is limited to 1/5.8 m2K/W (instead of 1/5.8 - 0.17 m2K/W). This limits the U-value of window frames to 2.9 W/m2K (instead of 5.8 W/m2K).
